Our Classes

At Shakti Rhythm, each class is a unique experience as we draw from many yoga traditions and incorporate new research to give you fresh variety, yet a sense of the familiar.

Gentle

A meditative, slower paced class that will involve some strengthening but mostly stretching and therapeutics. Gentle classes leave you with a relaxed and nourished body and mind. A great class for beginners. We suggest this style for anyone looking for a calming practice and to those who may be working with injuries or physical limitations.

Intermediate

An excellent middle of the road class offering a balance between strengthening and stretching, intermediate classes involve some challenging posture options for those looking to advance their physical yoga journey. Beginners welcome. We suggest this style for anyone looking for a moderate workout.

Vigorous

Vigorous classes are designed to challenge each student’s mind and body. Advanced postures are offered with modifications always provided. This style is suggested for those looking for a challenging but balanced practice and who have been practicing yoga for at least a few months.

Yang/Yin

This style of yoga essentially offers two classes in one. Yang/yin is an intermediate level practice with the first part (Yang) designed to heat the body, open the muscle tissue and lubricate the joints to prepare the body for the second portion (Yin) which is a calming, deep stretch designed to release tension. One may call it a "perfect balance".

Restorative

Restorative yoga is a unique, passive practice involving a deeply relaxing set of postures, each of which are supported by comfortable props to allow the body to let go and the mind to relax. The focus here is on the central nervous system and its response to releasing tension in this skillful setting. We suggest this style for anyone looking to destress and enjoy a soft, sweet yoga practice.
